Join us for a special networking and learning experience!
Enjoy a behind-the-scenes facility tour of the Pinellas County Solid Waste Disposal Complex, home to one of 10 waste-to-energy facilities in the state of Florida. The facility works like a power plant, except that it uses garbage as fuel and converts it into electrical energy. Tour participants will learn how over one million tons of garbage is managed annually in Pinellas County.
The tour classroom is located at 2940 110th Ave North, St. Petersburg, FL 33716. Parking is available on the west side of the building.
For more information, visit https://pinellas.gov/sweducation. After the tour, we will have a small group discussion along with a networking lunch.
